East Coast E.

The week that Alex and I got married, we decided that we needed to go on one last date as an unmarried couple. We had heard so many good things about the East Coast Grill in Cambridge's Inman Square, but we had never been because neither Alex nor I are seafood eaters and that is their specialty. Come to find out, they have two specialties. The other is barbecue.

East Coast Grill has some of the best barbecue I have ever had in Boston. For 25 years they have been offering up delicious casual fine dining with some of the most fantastic service you'll find in any restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun in a way that makes you feel like you are at a party at your best friend's house.

Alex started with the Hell Brined, Smoked and Grilled Jerk Chicken Wings, while me and my weak stomach started with a cold Anchor Steam. Alex had Uncle Bud's Trio Platter which included Dry Rubbed Pork Spareribs, Texas Style Beef Brisket, Eastern North Carolina Shredded Pork (which I ate most of because it was literally to kill for) and an enormous piece of corn bread. I had the New York Strip which included a super Avocado-Roasted Corn Chili Salad and Fried Sweet Potatoes with Goat Cheese. For dessert we shared a piece of Key Lime Pie which the waiter so generously added a piece of grilled pineapple to after I mentioned it looking good way back when we ordered our drinks. Now that is some amazing service.

All and all, we will definitely be back to East Coast Grill as a married couple! It was a wonderful last date.

  1. I live down the street from East Coast Grill. I usually get the mahi mahi but the barbecue there is really good too!
