The Stinking Rose

There are so many kitchen utensils that I would love to have. Most of them are pretty silly. I mean seriously, do I really need 10 kinds of whisks in 10 different sizes? Alex would rather just use a fork to scramble eggs. The avocado slicer looks cool, but I guess I can just use a knife.

One utensil that has been hard to live without though, is a garlic press. Garlic smells delicious, but it sticks around on your hands for days. Plus, you can never get minced garlic with a knife like you can with a press.

So we picked up a garlic press at Kohl's and I'm totally in love. It's a Food Network™ Soft-Grip Garlic Press. All you do is place the garlic in the press and squeeze. Then flip the handle over and the rubber pegs push any remaining garlic back through the holes for super easy cleaning. You never even have to touch the garlic. At $20, it's a little pricey for a kitchen utensil, but I've only used it once and it seems well worth it!

  1. oooooh i like the rubber points... they make this desirable! i had one once but it was a cheapie sans-bumps. i guess i shouldnt scrimp on such things!

  2. garlic utensils are totally necessary (we use our garlic twist literally daily)... we also have an avocado slicer but, i agree, a knife is totally easier!
