Crafts and cosmos

Tonight I am hosting a super fun craft night at our apartment. Well I hope it's super fun anyways! Em and Kristina are coming over, and we are going to make some etched glassware. I probably should be making, martini glasses because we don't have any and they would have been ideal for this post, because what goes better with crafts than cocktails!

For Christmas this year, Emily made me some of her famous Cranberry Vodka Liquor. It's totally delicious on its own, but I thought I'd try to make up a batch of cosmos, since I've never made them before. I'm pretty clueless about cocktails, but these taste amazing. I only wish they looked fancier than they do in our orange juice glasses.

Cosmopolitan Cocktail Recipe (from Drinks Mixer)
  • 1 oz vodka (I used 1 1/2 oz of Cranberry Vodka Liquor in place of the vodka and cranberry juice)
  • 1/2 oz cranberry juice
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1/2 oz Rose's lime juice
  1. Fill a martini glass (or any glass will do, we aren't fancy enough to own martini glasses) with ice cubes and add cold water until full. Let chill for a few minutes.
  2. Combine vodka, triple sec, lime and cranberry juice in a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake vigorously.
  4. Strain into a martini glass, garnish with a lime wedge on the rim, and enjoy.
