Chocolate Cherry Cookies

Chocolate and cherry are the two best dessert flavors ever in my opinion. I'm not a huge chocolate lover, but pair it up with cherries and it's always going to be my favorite.

I've been wanting to bake something with cherries and chocolate for a long time. I decided to start small with some Chocolate Cherry NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Cookies. These are basically the same as the original recipe that you find on the back of NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® chocolate chips, but with the added kick of cherries and white chocolate.

We had a bbq at work today and these went over like gang busters!

Chocolate Cherry NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Cookies
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels (substitute with 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 cup white chocolate chips)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (substitute 1 cup dried cherries)
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  6. Stir in morsels and nuts (or cherries!)
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
